Who are the top association event speakers for 2027?

Our 2027 list favors speakers who deliver value to an entire membership. It includes Nicholas Webb, Jon Gordon, Seth Mattison, Ryan Estis, Jason Dorsey, Erica Dhawan, Scott Stratten, Alison Levine, Duncan Wardle, Amy Purdy, Kindra Hall and Vinh Giang.

Full transparency: this list is researched and published by Keynoteology, a service product of LeaderLogic, LLC. Nicholas Webb is the founder of Keynoteology and he appears on this list. We have marked his entry so you cannot miss it. Every other speaker named here is included on merit, none of them paid to be here, and we earn nothing if you book them. How this list was built

How we chose this list, and why it matters

An association annual meeting is a different assignment from a corporate keynote. The room is large, the membership is mixed by age, career stage and specialty, and the organization is judged on the value members feel they received for their registration.

So we favored speakers who can hold a full hall and still send everyone home with something usable. Relevance to the membership matters as much as stage skill, and a speaker who lands with the board table but loses the newest member has only done half the job.

We assessed each speaker on their record with association audiences, the practical value of their material, and their ability to energize a large mixed room.

What is at stake

Members judge the whole year by the annual meeting

For many members the annual meeting is the most tangible thing their dues buy. A keynote that lands raises satisfaction scores, attendance for the following year and the perceived value of membership itself. A keynote that misses becomes the thing people mention in the survey.

That is why relevance beats celebrity in this category. A famous speaker who does not know your profession will be enjoyed and forgotten. A speaker who does the homework gets quoted in your member communications for a year.

Association audiences forgive a lot, but not irrelevance.

Frequently asked questions

Questions planners ask about this list

What makes a great association event speaker?
Association audiences respond to speakers who can hold a large, mixed room and send everyone home with something useful. The best pair relevance to the membership with the stage skill to energize a full hall.
Should we book a celebrity or a subject matter expert?
It depends on the slot. A recognizable name can drive registration and works well for an opening or closing session. A subject matter expert who knows your profession usually produces higher satisfaction scores. Many associations use both across a multi day program.
How much does a top association speaker cost?
Fees vary with profile, format and travel, from the low five figures for emerging voices to six figures for globally recognized names. Request a current quote from the speaker or their representative.
How far in advance should we book?
Six to twelve months is ideal for a headline keynote, and longer for peak season dates. Association annual meetings often compete for the same speakers in the same months, so early commitment matters more in this category than most.
